Muc-Off Dirty Work Wipes
James - 4th December 2006
Back to reviews archive

Muc-Off aspire to make sure every bike is shiny and clean. Thats why they have so many cleaning products, from your brakes to the drivetrain theres a spray or a brush that'll do the job.
Recently Muc-Off released their Dirty Work wipes. Basically a J-cloth with a degreaser type solution soaked into it. You get a pack of 40 huge wipes in a baby-wipe type box.

As well as shifting dirt from metal parts, like all the mess that accumulates on your mech hanger, or the gunk that builds up all over the drivetrain; it'll also get the aftermath of cleaning from your hands or the tools you're using.
Now of course you cant be using anything too harsh on those delicate manicured hands so its brilliant that just for those downhillers who like their mani's and pedi's that Muc-Off have used lanolin in the wipes, so you can clean your bike and moisturise your delicate paws at the same time. Not only that but it reeks of citrus, so you'll smell like a fresh lemon every day (ooer).

You dont need any water to use the wipes, as they're already soaked in the solution and the box keeps them moist. They're brilliant, and much better than trying to find a cloth to wipe the usual spray on degreaser off, plus they do a better job of it in the first place.

The price for the bright pink XXL wipes? £8.99 for a pack of 40. Whether or not this is a good deal is up to your bank balance, no doubt the majority of us will continue to use spray on degreaser and an old rag, but its nice to know that you've got the wipes when or if you need them.
They are a useful product and they do what they say on the pot but the only downfall is the price you'd have to pay. Take a look at Muc-Off for more info.
