Despite some harsh floods in Shropshire the Pearce Cycles team managed to keep the new Bringewood track dry enough to be able to peel off the mud tyres and whack on the ones waiting for a summers day.

The course started not far from the trig point start at the previous round, down some singletrack then into a road jump and on to the bomb holes, then across the fire-road, combined with burger van! Luckily Dave and Son had put some hard work into the bomb holes changing them from the slow, pedal deep ruts to quick rolling gravelled sections, the road jump had also been gravelled to replace the thick gloopy mud that was originally there.

The finish ended in the usual jump to sprint (or run for some..) the jump could be hit very hard without fear because of the work put into it by Pearce Cycles. Race organisation was great and Mikrotime managed to avoid the debacle at the Nationals. Living up to his name Crashmaster managed to hit a tree in the lower woods, according to a paramedic he had broken a few ribs, but he knew that anyway!

Somehow Dave managed to fend off the rain and replaced it with very strong wind, the finish paddock was very nearly moved down the valley several times!

Racing was reasonably good, and the runs managed to avoid most of the slower riders having to cope with a speed demon in their rear view mirror!
Emily Horridge managed to get down in 3.17 even with a crash! There were more women now at the second round, 15 year old Laurie Yeoman's managed to improve 20 seconds on her second time, finishing with 5.17, a good start for her first race on a hardtail, looking for big things maybe?

Josh Bryceland managed to snatch the Juveniles with a 2.53, brilliant result for him and one to watch also. Guess who won Youth? Steve Peat's hope, Brendan Fairclough with 2.38!
Local guy Marc Beaumont won the Elites with the best time of the day, 2.23, 5 seconds of Scott Beaumont!

Final round is at Hopton on the Saturday 20th March, with the summer series race on the Sunday!
