I think we'd decided it was going to be a cold one, when just as we were leaving the house it started to snow, and had been snowing the night before.. and kept snowing...
A quick glance at the temp gauge in the car showed a nice one degree celcius, walking up the forest it was warm... then you get to the fire road crossing (the one with the jump) and feel the winds blowing right across! Even snow all over the ground, ain't it pretty...

The course started up in the usual place, down along the off camber section, slippy as hell now in all the mud and ice, across the fire road and down onto the course which brings you out on the left of the tabletop into the finish field.

Plenty of crashes during the day, mostly losing grip on corners, because of the hard packed nature of Bringewood's well used tracks; it meant the ground was just like riding on ice in the first race run. An unfortunate rider had a suspected dislocated ankle (according to marshals) and had to be stretchered off the course. Later on in the afternoon the track started to thaw up and riders were just about managing to hold on.
All this happening meant tyre choices were manic; with people not sure whether to run spikes or trusty high rollers. To go for thin tyres to cut the mud up, or big treads to spread the weight?

We'll have our race pictures up in the next few days - over 280 pictures. We're going to be changing the way we do photos soon, we'll offer a image that you can view on your computer (but with a watermark) and we'll also be offering printing services - how does £5 sound for a printed 6x4 image, posted to you? And £7.50 for a 7x5 image. Bigger sizes available on request... Expect that to come in the next month or so, when we've sorted out our online billing system. Let us know your thoughts in the forums...
