Darren Berrecloth is a busy guy. He's forever filming and roadtripping all over the place for films and photoshoots.
He's also one of the leaders in the whole freeride movement, he's the face all the kids see in the vids, and his riding more than steps up to the mark when its needed.

How did you get into riding bikes?
I was always rippin around on a bike and then i started to bmx race
Have you ever raced?
Ya ive done a little downhill racing a long time ago
How about in the future, does DH or 4x tempt you?
Yeah totally I just really dont have the time
Where's your favourite place to ride?
Around my hometown or Whistler or Utah

Fave buddy to ride with?
Probably my brother or Jordie Lunn
Why did you start doing mountain biking when you were doing so well in BMX?
I moved from Seattle to Vancouver to go to school and my brother reintroduced me into the sport riding the shore and I just was having so much fun I couldnt stop i'm sure everyone can understand that
Who do you look up to in life?
Any person who has lived a long happy life.
Whats your favourite ice-cream flavour?
Cookies and cream for sure

You're in a load of movies, things like NWD and The Collective really kicked off freeride, where do you see it going?
I see it going the same direction but the films will just keep gettin better and better.

What prepares you mentally for a drop or stunt that, even with your experience, is pushing your limits?
I just visualize what i have to do and put my foot on the pedal
Do you push yourself hard to keep up with the other guys in terms of stunts?
I push myself because I love to learn new things and progress as a rider
The Red Bull Rampage was a defining event for freeride, what do you think is going to be the next big thing?
Slopestyle, its tha bomb

Do you prefer the big hucks, or the more technical lines?
I love it all each has its own challenges
Whats your favourite story to tell when you're out road tripping?
Probably the time i got busted riding my 50 in downtown vancouver and spent a night in the klink

30 plus but super technical

This is from one of our users, how do kids get big gnar arms like you to look cool in sleeveless tees?
Spend every day digging at the trails youll get huge guns and youll have dope jumps to ride
Whats life like as a freerider, hard work or fun and games?
Some days its super hard work but only because i make it hard and then others are pretty laid back
Gearbox/hub drive bikes, are they the next big thing in MTB?
Dont really know i think my derailleur works fine

What bikes have you got setup at the moment, whats the spec like?
Well my favourite is the Specialized Supercross Trail it has Manitou front and rear shocks with ti springs Race Face components, Bombshell wheels, Specialized tyres, specialized seat, Hayes brakes and Shimano drivetrain with e thirteen chainguide.
